Modern Frankfurt - Sights in the Banking District

Today's Frankfurt is characterized not only by shopping but also by the banking district and the financial world. So there are some sights worth visiting.

Euro Sculpture

The sculpture on Willy Brandt Square is a € sign with stars and is actually a neon sign created by Ottmar Hörl. The 15 metre higsculpture was erected here before the European Central Bank moved from the city centre to Ostend.

Distance from the hotel approx. 5 km

The European Central Bank moved into the unmistakable double tower in Ostend, which can already be seen from afar and stands strikingly in Frankfurt's skyline.

MAIN TOWER

The Main Tower was completed in 1999 and was the only high-rise building that allowed visitors a view over Frankfurt's skyline from its viewing platform 200 metres above the ground. Hessische Landesbank is at home in the Main Tower.

Please note that the observation deck can be closed due to weather conditions.

Frankfurt Stock Exchange

Near the New York Stock Exchange stands the most famous bull in the world, but even here in Frankfurt one can be found and even has company from a bear.

Did you know why the bull and the bear can be found in front of stock exchanges around the world?

The bull stands for the buyers who want to drive the price upwards - because the bull also strikes with his horns when he attacks from below upwards. The bear, on the other hand, stands for those sellers who are afraid that the price will fall and want to sell quickly - because the bear beats with his paws when he attacks from top to bottom.

The two sculptures in front of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange were erected on the forecourt of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange in 1985 to mark its 400th anniversary. Today they are probably two of Frankfurt's most popular photo models.
